National Islamic Writing Competition
The National Islamic Writing Competition in Sierra Leone was an extension of the already existing Sierra Leone Islamic Web project-www.sierraleoneislamicweb.com (which aims to provide authentic Islamic Information in Sierra Leone and Beyond.)
This initiative has a special focus in relation to the Islamic atmosphere and situation in Sierra Leone and aims to develop and promote authentic Islamic literatures both nationally and internationally and for both online and offline publications.
Categories:
a. BOOK:
To write a short book titled A guide to Islam in Sierra Leone.
b. RESEARCH:
To write and conduct a research/survey on "The plight of Muslim Women with regards to the discrimination and marginalization of wearing the Hijab in the following public and Private sectors in Sierra Leone.”
1. Secondary and Tertiary Educational Institutions.
2. Banking institutions
3. Medical institutions.
4. Government Institutions
(choose at least one sector)
c. ARTICLE:
To write an article on the topic “The Importance of Unity in Islam.”
d. STORY:
Write a story on the topic “Sincerity is the best policy”
e. POEM:
To write a poem on the topic “My responsibility as a Muslim towards my country”
f. LETTER:
To write a letter to the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone expressing how modest dressing and wearing the Hijab will help in minimizing rape in the country.
